King Cake Upset:
What makes these cakes fun is the surprise you are suppose to find, if it's in your piece...your extra special or whatever. Well..this particular day we were jipped of our reward. We ended up tossing the cake in a bowl and scourging through it with our hands. Much to my disappointment, no surprise. Isaac was upset and told me to call the store and tell them we wanted another one!

A few months ago Alabama was hit with snow! The kids were out of school a total of like 2 weeks! Here's a few pics of our street and our fun! Even by Idaho's standards it was pretty bad, that and there's probably 1 snow plow in the county!

hi. i don't even know who would even be reading this...everyone in my circle knows that i am way behind with bloggin, ect. anyways, its late and i am trying to test out of this online class for my RN. it's such busy work. it's a one credit course..called info. to literacy. i'll let ya know if i learn something. actually...wait i have..the internet was first used by dept. of defense (in 1950) to collecitvely/collaberatively work on "projects" with people far far away..aliens maybe?? well..here's the skinny on the RN thing:
1. take online class (i could finish tonight if i focus!)
2. take FCCA (focsued clinical...blah blah) It is mailed to me on 07/22/10 and i have til 08/01/10 to finish..its open book..all i do is set up a care plan for a patient. i do it all the time..shouldn't be hard. the only hard part i ve encountered with care plans has been managing my cna's to follow through with them. how hard is it to turn patient every hour..she has a big hole on her butt and its gonna get worse. and hello..i'll totally know if you don't turn him/her. i know i seem nice..but i will tell on you!!
3.over the next week, compile a list of official documents..cpr certification, background check, all the basics and mail in a whoppin..(should i tell you how much it is, is that tacky? naw, ya'll need to know this is big time stuff here, ((so when i am committed to the looney bin you'll know why))- $2025!
4.then i sit around for 2 months for them to tell me where i will have to fly to in another 5 months to pass off my skills infront of an instructor.

This is the start of it all, he learned he could rock on his hands and knees at 5 months, now he's climbing stairs at 6 months!
This is just not fair, I don't think that I have enjoyed him as a baby long enough!!

I realized that two pictures are better than one. I just spoke with Melissa for a good while and she told me that she'd love to see pictures of Sarah at this stage of the pregnancy. We had a little photo shoot and here we are. We went to the Dr yesterday and the baby is currently sitting breech. We hope that the baby will turn before long. We'll try to keep everyone informed, but who knows when I'll update this again. Sorry for the inconsistancy.

This is a picture of my beautiful pregnant wifey. We only have seven weeks left until the unknown fetus enters our lives in a more real way than the bump on Sarahs stomach.

She's such a pretty pregnant woman. I'm going to miss these days of her not being able to bend over to pick up things. She's also gotten quite clumsy, but its all part of the experience.

Sameulson Fun

We just finished up the 2008 Samuleson Bonanza. What a wonderful time we had. The best thing about this family is the balance; we play hard, work hard (swing set and various projects) and had some spiritual experiences together. This particular picture is from our
"Childrens Auction" which turned out being a way for the kids to get a goodie bag. Isaac loved his mask and wore it for the next few days The blue ink started rubbing off on his face and we managed to steal it away from him. The "Adult Auciton" was one of my top fav. activities The adults stayed up to 11:45, bidding on donated, homemade, unwanted, or even heriloomed items. I'm glad there weren't any hard feelings invloved, we did get a little cutthroat over a few items i.e, The Houston Temple painting, and the Robot Shirt! Well, the Ian and Sarah Samuelson's made out with lots of treasures, and will always remember our '08 auction. Paid in full with, "NanaBucks, BuzzBucks, and G'ma Sam Bucks." Wow..I definitley married into some talent. More pictures of the reunion follows in the slide show.

A new project that Sarah and I are going to post is our rating of movies we see. We realized that we see alot of movies, so if any of the family cares to know what we thought of a particular movie then you'll be able to see.

Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull
Sarah A- It gets the A because it's Indiana Jones, the minus is because of plot confusion.
Ian B Enjoyable. As many entertainingly unrealistic moments as a james bond film.

Iron Man
Sarah B- I didn't even know this was a comic,if its a pile of tin kicking butt you want, you got it!
IAN B+ The engineering stuff was so fun. Very engaging action. Good character development.

Prince Caspian
Sarah A I'm not much of a critic, but I do love my Narnia. It felt very much alive to me.
Ian A- They made a great movie out if a decent Narnia book. I was glad for the subtle
changes.

The Eye
Sarah A I'll give anything these days for a clean psychological thriller. Original ideas!
Ian B+ I jumped a few times and there was no blood, so for my standards it was an ideal
scary movie.

Just so you know these have been some of our favorite movies that we've seen in awhile, so don't plan on us giving every movie A's and B's.

A day in the Life of the Samuelson's

Well, we are generally not an exciting bunch. But, if I could ever get my folks on here this brief synopsis of our day would help them feel more connected.

Isaac and I went to the Zoo (Thanks to that special someone who gave us the season's pass).Isaac gets in the petting zoo, all on his own and doesn't even look back. He climbs up to reclaim the rock along with the goats. But, if you take your eyes off of him for a second, you may catch him trying to feed the goats a little black pebble!!

Ian and I are gearing up for Dave (my-ex) to take Isaac off our hands a bit for the summer. We get to missing him after a day or so of him being gone.

We went to the 10 pm showing of Iron Man, with hopes Isaac would be asleep. But since he wasn't we knew he would enjoy a "show" (as he would call it). There were some intense scenes. At one point Isaac said, "I want to go home." We ignored him and fed him more popcorn. A few minutes later he said, " I want to go home RIGHT NOW!" Now all Isaac talks about are those robots!

We are speaking in church on Sunday. When I told Ian, he cleverly exclaimed, "Guess we can't fight this week, or we won't have the spirit!" Don't worry family (especially Pam) Ian is very easy going, most the time he won't budge no matter my efforts! He's a great balance for me, and I for him. We get to choose 1 Article of Faith to speak on. If anyone out there in cyberspace has a particular insight on either #3 or #6 let us know. I've decided to just read Elder Packers Conference talk about the reorganization of the church!

I was asked to play my violin in church in a few weeks. Aww..brings me back to the last time I did. Ian's farewell June 10, 2002. Remember Richard opening his talk with something like, "Whoever thought Ian would go on his mission on a cold day in June was right!"

Hi to all. It would be too overwhelming to backtrack the last few weeks, months, ect. of our lives so we'll start today. (Take this advice when starting a journal and don't know where to begin.) Today Ian and I saw Prince Caspian. (very enjoyable even if you haven't read the book)So, it wasn't as big of a hit as we thought. Maybe because we saw the 1030 showing! I then went to work I and only say that because i MUST add that we had to get our dear Katie girl to babysit while Ian had to work his first night shift! This gal does all my chores. She even said to me, "Sister Sameulson, just make a list for me to do and I'll do it!" Well she's great and asked about the picture on the wall in Isaacs room of him and his dad. I had to fess up and tell her that i've had some disfunction in my life. She immediatley said she still loved me and gave me a hug! What a relief to know Isaac's in good hands.

Ian and I had our one year anniversary! Ian tried to downplay it, and well I just did so also. I figured since we would be traveling that day to Boise for me to take a test, we wouldn't have time for any romantics. I was wrong. Ian had things planned out. Anne and Kevin watched Isaac for us while we enjoyed dinner. The only good thing about that "goat pizza" we bought will be the memories we have of gagging on it. (This is the part of the show where Ian sticks up for the pizza).
Since we are talking anniversaries..and love..blah blah. One thing I love about Ian is that he is so easy going. Example: everytime we walk by the fake bubba gump teeth in WalMart we have to buy them!! Example: we went to the Outlet malls in Boise and he had a craving for one of those Gigantic Candied Apples! I just really enjoy his pace in life.
One more little diddy about our anniversary: Ian got me Beautiful flowers, but they make the house smell like urine! (lillies)
